It is time once again to nominate teachers from your local for awards. Award recipients will be honored at the 29th annual NWOEA Awards Banquet on Tuesday, March 5, 2013.
NWOEA Promising Leader Award – This award is to recognize an individual, who within the first five years of his/her teaching career has shown initiative in his/her local association. A local may choose and submit only one person per year.
NWOEA Local Level Service Award - This award is to recognize an individual for distinguished service to association work on the local level or having local-wide implications. The number of awards shall be limited to three (3) per year per local association.
NWOEA District Level Service Award - This award is to recognize an individual(s) or group of individuals actively involved in education for distinguished service to association work on the NWOEA district level or having NWOEA district-wide implications.
NWOEA District Service Award - Retired - This award is to recognize one retired individual currently involved in NWOEA for distinguished service at the NWOEA-R district level or having NWOEA-R district-wide implications.
NWOEA Golden Membership Award – This award recognizes a local association that shows 100% full and active membership of all eligible teachers and staff. MEMBERSHIP NUMBERS WILL BE CONFIRMED BY THE MEMBERSHIP DIVISION OF OEA.
NWOEA Silver Membership Award – This award recognizes a local association that shows at least a 5% increase over available figures for the previous year. MEMBERSHIP NUMBERS WILL BE CONFIRMED BY THE MEMBERSHIP DIVISION OF OEA.
NOMINATION FOR MEMBERSHIP AWARDS SHALL BE VERIFIED BY OEA. Submission of a completed Promising Leader application assures the individual will receive the award. Nominations for service awards do not guarantee the person will receive an award. In the case of service awards the NWOEA Awards Committee will select award recipients from nominations submitted. All recipients will be notified and invited in writing after February 4, 2013, to the Awards Banquet. The nominator will also be notified in writing, if the person nominated is to receive a local or district service award.
If your local association qualifies for a membership award or if you wish to make nominations for the service awards or designate someone for the Promising Leader Award, please complete the forms and return them to the NWOEA Center, 101 West Sandusky St., Suite 302, Findlay, Ohio 45840 by Tuesday, January 15, 2013. Award recipients will be honored at the 29th annual NWOEA Awards Banquet on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at the Findlay Country Club.
