NWOEA Summer Leadership Training Programs
Monday, August 9, 2010
University of Findlay

NWOEA is offering three excellent training opportunities for your members on Monday, August 9, 2010.  Please pass this information on to members whom you believe would be interested in or would benefit from these programs.

Our first offering is a training session for Local Leaders.  The training is designed so that participants can increase their knowledge and/or comfort level with the job of being a Local Leader.  The Local Leader Training Workshop will be held Monday, August 9, 2010 in the Endly Room in the University of Findlay Student Union. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the workshop starting at 9:00 a.m. and concluding about 12:00 p.m. An Italian buffet lunch will be served in the South Half of the Multi-Purpose Room in the Student Union at the conclusion of the training. There is no charge to NWOEA members for this workshop or the lunch.

Our second offering is our annual association leadership-training program for new and veteran treasurers.  Other local officers are also invited to attend.  This program is designed to assist treasurers and/or local officers to better understand the duties of the office of treasurer.  Attendance at this OEA sanctioned Treasurers Workshop is a requirement for the OEA Fiscal Fitness Award.  The Treasurers Workshop will be held on Monday, August 9, 2010 in the North Half of the Multi-Purpose Room in the University of Findlay Student Union.  Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the workshop starting at 9:00 a.m. and concluding about 12:00 p.m.  A drawing will be held, and OEA will pay the OEA portion of the unified dues for two lucky attendees.  An Italian buffet lunch will be served in the South Half of the Multi-Purpose Room in the Student Union at the conclusion of the training.  There is no charge to NWOEA members for this workshop or the lunch.

Our third offering is a Quicken training to take place after lunch from 1:00 – 3:15 p.m. at the Old Main Hall Computer Lab.  Treasurers will be offered the opportunity to learn how to keep their financial records organized on the computer using their own copy of “Quicken Deluxe 2010,” provided by a grant from CentWest.  There is no charge to NWOEA members for this workshop.  Registration is limited to 20 participants with preference given to first time attendees.

We truly believe that these workshops will provide an interesting and worthwhile experience for your members.  Please encourage interested members to attend. Registration forms have been provided with this letter or participants may want to register on line by using the NWOEA web site at www.nwoea.org.  Registration deadline is July 26, 2010.

Attendance at any August 9, 2010, NWOEA Workshop will count as one of the two attendance requirements for a 2010-2011 PR Grant.
